Daughter of George D. & Mary Elizabeth (Cox) Huffman (F-6), Sister of Mary Elizabeth Smart (F-1B), Emily Jane Grider (D-1B), Grand-daughter of Daniel Price (H-8C) and Elizabeth Huffman (H-8D)
Parents of Charles (F-5A), George Kenneth (D-3B), Florence May Hall (F-2B), Harry, (G-3A) and 6 infants (F-4).

Married July 14, 1897 at the Huffman homestead.

Effie was born at the homestead soon after it was built. She attended Grange Hall grade school and later boarded in Danville to take training and became a grade school teacher. Her first school was Centennial, northwest of Bismarck. She had a riding horse and rode to the Nichols’ family home where she boarded. The next year she taught at Lamb school. After their marriage, Joe and Effie lived on Florida street in Danville, later on Collett street. Effie received the homestead house and 45 acres after her parents died. She was widowed at the age of 39, but raised and provided for her four children. She was a kind, patient lady, and was loved by all who knew her.
